About the contributors

Dear Volksbad, you are our cooperation this year and you are also the place where the art exhibition will take place. We are very happy about that. Why do you support us and why is the topic so important to you?

"We are happy to open our doors and rooms for encounters and discussions, not only on this evening, on the occasion of the 'International Day against Violence against Women and Girls'. The Volksbad Buckau c/o Women's Center Courage has been run by our association as a socio-cultural and women's center since 2006. As a women's initiative Magdeburg we attach great importance to the promotion of women & girls, especially in the cultural sector. Our offers are a colorful mix of educational events such as archery for women and girls, feminist theme nights, films, exhibitions, herbal walks, but also concerts with bands, where we as an association explicitly support female musicians. In addition, we dedicate topics such as equality & acceptance for LGBTIQ* people and thus create opportunities for encounters with art, culture and communication. We also do political work with our association on a local and state level. In this sense, we were very happy about the cooperation request, because the topic of the 'International Day against Violence against Women and Girls' is very close to our hearts. And we find the idea of giving this topic space and a stage with this exhibition and a comprehensive supporting program consisting of speech, lecture, discussion and concert very important. This is the only way we can open up this topic to a broad audience and draw focus to it."

Tina Jung

Dear Professor Tina Jung, you are giving a lecture at our vernissage for our art exhibition "HINSEHEN". We are very pleased that you will be there. Why are you supporting us and why is this topic so important to you?

Tina Jung   "How important 'looking' is for the change of violent and oppressive conditions, we experience just with regard to the Iranian protests under the slogan Woman*, Life, Freedom: The pictures and reports from Iran need international attention and solidarity. In our society, too, 'looking' makes it possible to name and process violations, discrimination and violence. Mediated through art, this is possible without the need for linguistic means. 'Looking' creates publicity and enables collective discussion of events that are all too often treated as private matters."

Gina Maria Mund from Mundpropaganda Booking with the music act Ava Vegas

Dear Gina, you support us this year at the vernissage with your booking agency. That's why there is also the concert with Ava Vegas. Of course we are very happy about that. Why do you support us? Why is this topic so important to you?

undefined   "Equality for women, men, non binaries is a central challenge to making life equitable in our country and beyond. Equal opportunity on a personal, professional and family level is absolutely essential. I admire people who rebel and have rebelled in the past against the oppression that is taking place around the world. Already our ancestors have done so much insanely positive that I stand at this point today as a female read. At a point that should be self-evident to allocate and is far from balanced. Of course, the exhibition theme is paramount and I'm excited to be a part of it."
