Auxiliary staff

The assumption of costs for auxiliary staff aims to reduce the workload on committee work for women scientists. The intention is to establish standards, to reconcile self-administration, research, teaching and life andthus to maintain or increase job satisfaction. Women academics are still more burdened with reconciliation services. Additionally, if they are among the few female professors, they are much more often involved in appointment procedures and review activities.

Assistants are useful to support academic work, in which they are involved in research, teaching and academic organization, but can also be introduced to academic work as future junior staff and be enthusiastic about research and teaching. For this reason, professors should be motivated to integrate talented female students into academic work contexts such as teaching, research, conferences and publications via student assistant contracts and to introduce them to the possibilities of academic qualifications.
