Am I entitled to a full-day place at the Kita if I am on leave?
Actually, no! Students on leave are considered "inactive students" even if they continue to attend individual courses or take exams. The Parental Contribution Office of the Youth Welfare Office assumes that the "employment relationship" with the university is suspended and therefore there is only an entitlement to a half-day place. The "employment relationship" is to be equated with that of an employee on parental leave.
But: If you are an OVGU student on leave and need a full-time place for your daughter or son, you can contact the university's family representative. An explanatory letter to the city administration has already resulted in a change of the decision in one or the other case!
