Rebecca Taubert

Employee for MINT Recruitment

Rebecca RandolfSince 1 June, Rebecca Taubert at the OVGU has been supporting the recruitment of young scientists across all structures.

In view of the increasingly clear effects of demographic developments on the recruitment and retention of highly qualified graduates and experienced scientists, those responsible at the university are increasingly facing problems when it comes to filling scientific positions.  Rebecca Taubert will be active in this field in the coming years and will assist the faculties and administrative units as a coordinating, advisory and creative force.  In addition to taking stock of the many existing measures, their strategic development and coordination, workshops on the topics of "Employer attractiveness of the OVGU" and "Active recruitment in science" are already being planned. In these contexts, the OVGU's particular potential and responsibility lies in the recruitment of (young) female scientists and the maintenance of equal opportunities. This position, acquired from Ms. Taubert through the  Project FEM POWER project, is intended to increase the attractiveness of the OVGU as a place of study, research and work.

Rebecca Taubert studied economics, Middle East studies and educational sciences at the Martin Luther University in Halle and has practical experience in personnel development and personnel marketing. In fulfilling her new task at the OVGU, she attaches particular importance to participatory cooperation with the faculties, scientists and staff of the various administrative units.

1. In which areas am I active at the OVGU?:

"In different. Since the goal of my work is to increase the proportion of women at all levels of science, I work with many areas and individuals. These include the areas of personnel development, appointment management, the Graduate Academy and MKM, but above all the individual faculties of the OVGU. Only if everyone participates can we manage to become more attractive for external applicants* and especially for women, and to win the best brains for every position."

2. What do I want to achieve with equality work?
  • "more visible and clearly better planned career perspectives for women
  • more diversity at management levels
  • more female students who decide to do a doctorate at the OVGU
  • better compatibility of career and family"
3. What would I give to new colleagues in the field of equal opportunities?

"Be open to new contacts and form a stable network of supporters. Stay patient and stubborn, some things don't work until the 20th try!"

4. Where can you find me in my leisure?

"At yoga or at my sewing machine or with my cat and a cup of tea or coffee on the couch."
